You may know yoga as an old practice focusing on breath and poses, but did you know it can also be used to improve your posture? Poor posture is a common cause of neck and back pain. This is especially true if you are constantly slouching. Luckily, yoga can help strengthen the core muscles and lengthen the spine, allowing for improved alignment and reduction in discomfort. Simply put, yoga can definitely relieve back pain and improve your posture. Here are four simple yoga poses to help you achieve perfect posture.

Shoulder Opener

This pose helps open up the chest and shoulders while also strengthening your core. To do this pose, stand with your feet hip-width apart and stretch both arms above your head. Make sure that your palms are facing one another. Take a few deep breaths, feeling the stretch in your arms and chest as you inhale. Exhale, and relax your shoulders. Hold this for about 10 breaths. The best part about this pose is that it can be done anywhere and anytime,

Cat-Cow Stretch

Another pose that you should definitely try is the cat-cow pose. This pose helps to stretch the spine and neck while also strengthening the abdominal muscles. To do this pose, start on all fours with your hands below your shoulders and knees below your hips. On an inhale, arch your spine, gazing up at the top. While exhaling, round your spine and make your chin touches your chest. Continue this motion for 10 breaths. See how the spine lengthens and strengthens with each inhales.

Plank Pose

Like the shoulder opener pose, the plank pose works great for strengthening your core. To do this pose, start on all fours with your hands below your shoulders and knees below your hips. Step back into a plank position, making sure that both feet are hip-width apart and the spine is in neutral alignment. Make sure to keep the abdomen tight and hold this position for 30 seconds to a minute. You’ll feel the core muscles strengthening with each second.

Eagle Pose

Though the name is a bit intimidating, the eagle pose is actually a gentle yoga pose. It’s great for opening up the chest, shoulders, and neck while improving posture. To do this pose, stand with your feet hip-width apart and your arms bent at shoulder height. Cross one arm over the other so that the palms are touching. Raise your elbows, and press the palms together firmly. Take a few deep breaths, feeling the stretch in your arms and chest. Hold for about 10 breaths.

Tips for Choosing the Right Assisted Living Facility

When it comes time to choose assisted living facility in Baltimore, it can be challenging to know where to start. There are so many options available, and each one seems to offer something different. How do you know which is the right fit for your loved one? This blog post will provide tips for choosing the right assisted living facility. We hope that this information will help make the process easier!

Consider the Cost

eldersOne of the first questions you should ask yourself when considering an assisted living facility is how much you can afford to pay each month. This will help narrow down your options and make the decision-making process a little bit easier. Be sure to consider all of the potential costs associated with assisted living, including rent, utilities, food, activities, and care services.

Establish the Type of Care You Need

Not all assisted living facilities are created equal. Some offer more comprehensive care and assistance than others. When you are considering potential facilities, be sure to ask about the types of care and service they provide. Does the facility have a nurse on staff 24 hours a day? What type of assistance is available for activities of daily living? Does the facility offer memory care services? Knowing what type of care and assistance your loved one needs will help you choose the right assisted living facility.

Consider the Type of Setting

When considering assisted living facilities, it is essential to think about the type of setting you prefer for your loved one. Do you want them to be in a smaller, more intimate setting? Or do you choose a larger facility with more amenities? There are benefits to both types of environments, so be sure to consider what would work best for your loved one.

Examine the Staff-To-Resident Ratio

visitThe staff-to-resident ratio is an important consideration when choosing an assisted living facility. A lower staff-to-resident ratio means that there will be more staff members available to provide care and assistance to residents. You will want to keep this in mind, especially if your loved one needs many services. Another important consideration when choosing an assisted living facility is the distance from family and friends. If you have loved ones who live far away, you may want to choose a closer facility. This way, they will be able to visit more easily. On the other hand, if you have loved ones who live nearby, you may want to choose a closer facility.…
